Couple sues radiologist claiming he overlooked signs of both cancer and a spinal injury - Radiology Business

A couple from Auburn, Maine is suing a radiologist and his organization after the radiologist allegedly missed signs of cancer and a spinal injury on a CT scan three years ago. Jeffrey Robinson was treated at Central Maine Medical Center's emergency department in March 2023 for back and stomach pain, where a CT scan reportedly indicated a spinal epidural abscess and potential gastro-esophageal cancer. He was discharged but later diagnosed with the abscess the next day, leading to complications. The couple claims that the medical professionals failed to conduct proper tests, resulting in permanent injuries and a delay in diagnosing Robinson's cancer, which progressed to stage 3 by May 2024. The defendants deny the allegations, asserting that the injuries were due to unavoidable medical conditions.
